Livestock Judge, Showman, + Industry Professional

I work for the Minnesota State Fair Foundation as the Annual Giving and Communications Coordinator. I’m involved in a handful of other organizations, such as helping with the MLBA 4-H Purple Ribbon Auction at the Minnesota State Fair, and I also judge livestock shows around the state. We travel around the state, and even some shows around the country, with very close friends of ours and help with their show string as well. We just welcomed our first kiddo, so we’re looking forward to the years ahead where he is able to show cattle as well.

How did you become involved in agriculture?

I grew up as a member of 4-H in Washington county where I exhibited beef cattle and market lambs for 12 years. I immediately fell in love with livestock, and the agriculture industry as a whole and knew that I wanted to continue to be involved in the industry in the future.

What is your role in the agriculture industry?

I’m now involved in the agriculture industry in many ways and try to take advantage of every opportunity I get to give back and invest in the next generation of agricultural leaders. I work at the Minnesota State Fair Foundation as the Annual Giving & Communications Coordinator. I also serve as the Secretary/Treasurer for the Minnesota Livestock Breeders’ Association, a volunteer on the Minnesota 4-H Purple Ribbon Auction Committee, and I spend my summer traveling around the state of Minnesota to evaluate many jackpot, 4-H and open class shows for county fairs.

    What are your hobbies?

I really enjoy reading, crafting, baking, and spending time with my family and friends.

Why is sharing information about agriculture important to you?

Sharing information about agriculture is important to me because there is such a disconnect between the consumer and where their food and products come from. I want to be a trusted source of information and continue to bring attention to the fact that agriculture is everywhere and in almost every aspect of day-to-day life for everyone.
