My husband and I farm with my parents and grow corn and soybeans. Our goal is to be wise with our resources, so that our farm will be sustainable and our children will have the opportunity to keep our family’s farm going in the future. I also work off the farm at a local community bank.

I think the volume of information available can be overwhelming, and it's hard to discern what is true. I want to share my firsthand experiences, be a resource, and give people a glimpse into our life. I am passionate about my family and my farm, and CommonGround has given me the opportunity to find "my tribe". I've met some amazing women from different backgrounds and come from different parts of agriculture, yet we all share a passion for our families and our farms. We all feel blessed to be farmers.
When I was in middle school, my best friend, Sara, came out for a sleepover. At that time, my grandparents had 7 beef steers. When Sara and I went to feed the cows, she said, "so, those are cows, right?" I was amazed that my best friend, who lived 15 miles away in a rural town, had never seen a cow! That's when I first realized that, what I took for granted was a completely new experience for someone else. That's what sparked my passion for sharing the story of agriculture.
